When you think of the word "community", what comes to mind? Is it just a place that you live in? A word to describe the town you call home? Or does it have a deeper meaning?
We are incredibly proud to have built our company from the ground up in the place where we live, where we raise our kids and where we truly feel our home is. Our sense of community is an integral part of who we are as people and as a company — and we come by it honestly.
In a small town in Kipling, Saskatchewan in the 1920s, a family settled and opened a general store. Farmers and townspeople frequented it, supporting their local proprietor. That family didn't just sell their wares for generations. When farmers and townsfolk fell on hard times due to failing crops, inclement weather or personal tragedies, they quietly forgave debts — never asking for accolades or recognition, but to see their community continue on and be successful.
